What is Reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, provides balance and improves our body’s natural ability to heal itself. Reiki can be accessed and directed through the energetic pathways in the body of an attuned Reiki practitioner. It is drawn in through the crown, then released through the hands using gentle touch and/or beaming. Reiki flows through the body, mind and personal energy field of both the recipient and practitioner, intuitively focusing on areas that require the most attention.
Mikao Usui discovered and developed Reiki, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things.
Reiki is used all over the world, including in hospitals and hospices, for relaxation, stress reduction, healing, and to complement other forms of health treatments. Reiki can engage the parasympathetic nervous system, helping us move into our “rest and digest” state, the opposite to our “fight/flight/freeze/fawn” stress responses. It can have a noticeable positive impact on many conditions and areas of concern (mental, physical and emotional) without interfering with any other form of treatment or healing modality.
Reiki can be received remotely or in person, with or without physical contact. You are welcome to put on your comfy clothes, ground yourself in the present moment, and sit, stand, or lay down to receive this gentle, healing energy.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the act of paying attention, on purpose, to the current moment. We begin by taking long, deep breaths and focusing on the sensation of our breath entering and leaving our body. We remain connected to our body, our senses and our environment using a variety of techniques and activities. The purpose of Mindfulness is not to clear your mind of all distractions. It’s natural to get distracted. A lot. We don’t need to forcefully push away our thoughts, nor do we continue to allow ourselves to be absorbed in them. We notice when we lose our focus on the present, we acknowledge our thoughts and we gently and non-judgmentally bring ourselves back to the experience of the present moment, over and over and over again.
What are compassionate conversations?
They are compassionate, non-judgemental, supportive and confidential conversations. We provide a listening ear, validation and support from an intuitive, kind and empathetic person with lived experience with Mental Health challenges and recovery. Do you need to vent and express your emotions in a safer space about whatever is going on in your life? We’re here for you. Do you need a shoulder to cry on? Bring it in. Do you need to express your frustration with your co-workers, partner, children or friends? We’re here for that. Do you really need to talk about something that you can’t tell anyone yet to be able to celebrate or release or feel any of the feels? That’ll stay between us. Are you struggling with mental health challenges and need to speak to someone who’s been there and gets it? We’ve got you. Would you like help navigating effective coping skills or community resources? We can do that. Are you sick of talking to people who are dismissive, judgemental, or think they know what’s best for you? We don’t. We won’t ever tell you what to do or give any unsolicited suggestions. We’re here to listen, not to give advice. We know that we don’t know what’s best for you. Only you do. We’re here to support you while you figure that out for yourself based on your personal needs, values and goals.

TRADITIONAL AYURVEDIC ABHYANGA MASSAGE
Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India, originating over 5,000 years ago and is known as the science of life: Ayur = life and Veda = Science or knowledge. It is a holistic medical system that defines health as the connection between mind, body and nature and offers systems to re-establish balance and increase vitality. Ayurveda is a wide-body of knowledge with many applications including diet, lifestyle, exercise, cleansing and body-therapies.
Of the numerous body-therapies ABHYANGA is the cornerstone. It is a full body massage with warm herbal oil applied to the skin that restores balance to the body.
Working head to toe, this massage stimulates circulation through all the systems of the body, rinsing the lymph, nervous and circulatory systems, as well as the bones and soft tissue. Aiding with issues such as inflammation, indigestion and chronic pain, Abhyanga creates movement through the body invigorating all your cells, while deeply detoxifying and relaxing you. Come and experience one of the most ancient healing arts!
“Vitally linked to the profound harmony of the earth, the ancients knew every movement of the cosmos to be filled with universal abhyanga. The leaves and bark of the trees are continually massaged by the wind; the rocks and pebbles are rubbed by the streams and rivers; the animals, brushed by space, wind and the forest, are forever toned by abhyanga.” – Maya Tiwari, Ayurveda: Secrets of Healing
